Amazon Seller Account Setup
and Management in the UAE

Opening an Amazon.ae seller account takes the right documents, a few clear choices and some patience with verification. I’m Syeda Maleeha, a freelance Amazon account manager based in Ajman. I set up seller accounts for UAE brands, then handle the daily work so you can focus on your products.

What you need before you register

Amazon checks every new seller, so it pays to have your papers ready before you start. For a UAE-based business, the usual list is:

  • A valid Emirates ID, or a passport if you are not a UAE resident
  • A UAE trade licence that allows e-commerce or general trading
  • A UAE bank account in the business name
  • A UAE mobile number and business address for verification
  • Business and tax details, including your VAT number if you have one

This list matches the requirements published by SPC Free Zone. The names on your licence, ID and bank account should match exactly. Most delays I see come from small differences, such as a missing middle name or an old address.

VAT matters too. Registration with the Federal Tax Authority becomes mandatory once your taxable sales pass AED 375,000 in 12 months, and you can register by choice from AED 187,500 (Dasa Consulting). If you plan to sell at volume, sort this out early.

Individual or Professional: which selling plan fits you?

Amazon.ae offers two selling plans. The right one depends on how much you plan to sell and which tools you need.

IndividualProfessional
Monthly feeNoneAED 146.90 + VAT
Fee per item soldAED 3.67None
Best forFewer than 40 items a monthGrowing brands
Advertising (PPC)Not availableAvailable
A+ Content and Brand Registry toolsNot availableAvailable

Figures from SPC Free Zone. Amazon sometimes runs fee promotions for new sellers, so check the current plan price on Amazon’s pricing page before you sign up. For most of my clients, Professional is the better choice because it unlocks ads and A+ Content.

What Amazon.ae charges on each sale

On top of the plan fee, Amazon takes a referral fee on every sale. Amazon says most referral fees are between 4.5% and 15% of the sale price, depending on the category. Fees changed on 1 August 2025 for some categories, so always check the latest table.

Delivery costs depend on how you ship:

  • Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA): you send stock to an Amazon warehouse. Fees start from AED 7.5 per unit, plus monthly storage.
  • Easy Ship: you store and pack orders, and Amazon collects and delivers them. Fees start from AED 14 per shipment.
  • Self-ship: you handle storage, packing and delivery yourself.

Before you list a product, I build a simple cost sheet in AED. It shows the product cost, Amazon fees, shipping, VAT and ad spend, so you can see your real profit per unit.

How I set up your Amazon.ae seller account

  1. Document check. I review your licence, ID and bank details and point out anything that could slow down approval.
  2. Registration. I guide you through Seller Central sign-up, including the identity and video verification steps that only you can complete.
  3. Account settings. I set up shipping, returns, tax settings and user permissions.
  4. Product research. I use Helium 10 and Jungle Scout to check demand, competition and price ranges for your products.
  5. Listings. I write titles, bullet points and backend search terms, and plan your images.
  6. Launch. I set up your first ad campaigns and send stock to FBA if you choose it.

Sellers often report approval within 2 to 5 working days once all documents are in, but Amazon can ask for more checks. I stay with you until the account is live.

Amazon Brand Registry for UAE brands

Brand Registry protects your brand on Amazon and unlocks better tools. According to Amazon, you need an active registered trademark or a pending application filed through Amazon IP Accelerator. The mark must be a word mark or a design mark with words, letters or numbers, and it must come from an approved government trademark office.

Once you are registered, you can:

  • Add A+ Content to your product pages
  • Run Sponsored Brands ads and build an Amazon Store
  • Report sellers who copy your listings or sell fakes
  • Control your product titles, images and details

If you do not have a trademark yet, I can explain the options and help you prepare the Brand Registry application once it is filed.

Why Amazon seller accounts in the UAE get stuck

Most approval problems come from a handful of issues. Fixing them before you apply saves days, sometimes weeks:

  • Name mismatches. The business name on your trade licence, bank letter and Seller Central form must match word for word.
  • Expired or soon-to-expire documents. Amazon may reject an ID or licence that expires within a few weeks.
  • Unclear scans. Blurry photos, cropped edges or screenshots of documents often fail the check. Use clear colour scans.
  • Wrong licence activity. Some licences do not cover e-commerce or the product types you want to sell.
  • Address problems. A missing unit number, or an address that differs from your utility bill or tenancy contract, can trigger more checks.
  • Restricted categories. Products such as health, beauty or electronics may need extra approval or certificates before you can list them.

I review all of this with you before submitting, so your Amazon seller account in the UAE goes through with as few back-and-forth requests as possible.

Your first 90 days on Amazon.ae

New sellers often expect sales on day one. In practice, the first three months follow a clear pattern:

WhenWhat happens
Weeks 1 to 2Account approval, settings, product research and cost sheet
Weeks 3 to 4Listings written, images ready, stock sent to FBA or Easy Ship set up
Month 2Launch ads, collect first reviews, fix pricing and listing gaps
Month 3Scale ads on winning keywords, plan restock, add new products or variations

Some products sell faster and some take longer. The point is to make each step measurable, so you know what is working before you spend more.

Should you sell on Amazon.ae and Noon?

Many UAE brands sell on both. Each marketplace has its own fees, rules and shoppers, and stock planning gets harder when you sell in two places. I usually suggest starting on one, getting the listings and numbers right, then adding the second once the first is stable. I have run Noon accounts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, so I can help with both.

If you are based in the UAE, Amazon asks for a valid trade licence. Sellers based outside the UAE can sometimes sell on Amazon.ae through Amazon Global Selling using their home country business documents.

How much does an Amazon seller account cost in the UAE?

The Individual plan has no monthly fee and charges AED 3.67 per item sold. The Professional plan costs AED 146.90 plus VAT each month (SPC Free Zone). Referral and delivery fees are extra.

VAT registration is mandatory once your taxable sales pass AED 375,000 in 12 months. You can register by choice from AED 187,500.

Is my account safe if you manage it?

Yes. I work through Seller Central user permissions, so you never share your main login. You choose what I can see and change, and you can remove my access at any time.

Yes. I work with sellers in the UAE and abroad, and I can also help with Amazon.sa and Amazon.com accounts.
